Verne Petersen, 98, of DePue, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at home.The funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Verne will begin at noon on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in DePue. Rev. Fortunatus Rwehikiza will officiate. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Spring Valley with graveside military rites by the Peru Memorial Group. Visitation for Verne will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:50 AM at St. Mary's Church in DePue. The Barto Funeral Home in Spring Valley is assisting the family.
