He was born on August 31, 1938, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, to the late Thomas and Helen Allgood. James graduated from Oskaloosa High School, the Class of 1956 and went on to graduate from William Penn in 1960. He dedicated many years of his life to education, teaching at Logan Jr High, and later transitioning to a successful career in sales at LCN where he worked for 15 years. On March 28, 1975, he married the love of his life, Sharon Fisher, in Spring Valley, IL. James was a cherished member of the Moose Lodge and found great joy in activities like golfing, receiving his first hole in one at the tender age 81 and another at the age of 83.
