Thomas Zellers Born: March 9, 1957 in Ottawa, IL Died: June 20, 2024 in Spring Valley, IL Spring Valley - Thomas J. "Tom" Zellers, 67, of rural Spring Valley passed away at his home Thursday, June 20 following a brief illness. Tom was born March 9, 1957 to William T. and Julia (Vancena) Zellers. He married his one and only love Patricia (Mosier) of Marseilles in August of 1976, remaining with her until her death in 2022. After graduating from Ottawa High School in 1975 Tom began working alongside his dad and uncles at Libbey Owens Ford in Ottawa, where, as stories tell, he spent many pleasant work days playing cards, taking naps and attending chili cook-offs. He worked as an over the road driver for a decade, hauling automotive steel to Detroit, often with son Shawn hidden away in the bunk of his truck. Tom later went to work for Laborer's local 911,( which merged with Local 393), where he worked as a concrete finisher until Pat reluctantly let him retire. Tom was a lifelong outdoorsm
