Princeton - Larry Merle Vetter, 78, of Princeton, Illinois passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
Larry was born on October 19, 1945 in Greenville, Pennsylvania to parents Merle Ivan "Spud" Vetter and Maria Monical (Jones) Vetter. They would soon after relocate to Princeton, IL., where the family settled.
After graduating from Princeton High School in 1963, Larry had varied vocations including time in the Army National Guard, professional motorcycle racer, spending time as a welder in the shipping industry, and with The Princeton Township, including 15 years as Township Commissioner. He loved being a part of the community.
In 1975, Larry met the love of his life, Grace Scrimsher. They were married on February 19, 1977, a marriage that lasted more than 47 years at the time of his passing. Together, Larry and Grace raised a blended family of four children. He enjoyed camping, motorcycle riding, and traveling across the country and spending time with his family and friends.
